About the Initiative

HELP LOCALLY

You can have a direct impact on those negatively affected by the coronavirus crisis and its economic fallout. Learn more about the COVID-19 Regional Response Fund below and consider making a donation.

CELEBRATE AT 7:00 P.M.

Help us show support of our local heroes – hospital, grocery, restaurant and delivery workers and other essential members of the workforce – by clapping, singing, dancing, donating, sharing or expressing yourself however you see fit at 7:00 p.m. every night.

LIGHT UP THE CITY

Buildings throughout the city will be illuminated with blue. The rest of the community is encouraged to join us in this effort as well.

CHEER ON THE CARE-AVAN

During the last two weeks of April, we took a six-unit “care-avan” across five Greater St. Louis regions to spread cheer where our front-line heroes work and live. We were joined by mascots, announcers, sports alum, local politicians and other local authorities – parading through the city’s neighborhoods in Ford trucks.

The American Red Cross is experiencing dramatic shortages in blood donations. If you are eligible, please consider donating blood to show your support.

Watch

In partnership with several local organizations, we ran an hour-long TV special to celebrate our local heroes and also raise money for St. Louis Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Regional Response Fund. Many St. Louis legends contributed messages of thanks, hope and inspiration.

care-avan routes

Here are the areas and hospitals we celebrated with local favorites like Louie the St. Louis Blues mascot and Fredbird the St. Louis Cardinals mascot. St. Louisans celebrated from their windows, lawns, balconies and porches.
